From Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley to Victoria Beckham, the most stylish women have one thing in common, they always look polished. Whether it’s a good manicure, blow dry or a clever styling trick, there are a few hacks everyone should know for a pulled-together, polished, every day look…
Steam, De-bobble and De-fluff Your Clothes
It may sound simple, but you can’t underestimate quite how scruffy creased or bobbled clothes will make you look and feel. My go to tools are a hand held steamer, a fabric shaver and sticky roller to get clothes looking like new again. Looking clean and presentable is the first step to feeling more polished. Be religious with your manicure and pedicure and hair appointments
It doesn’t matter how much effort you’ve put into your outfit, if your nails are chipped, you’re never going to look polished. No matter what time of the year it is I always have a pedicure. It might only be you seeing your feet but you’ll feel so much better for knowing they look and feel amazing no matter what.
Stick with neutral shades, I have my go to dark rouge noir during the winter and pristine white in the summer. I also love a classic French manicure and opt for a pillar-box red if I’m after a more glamorous effect. I also have a gel overlay onto my natural nails, it lasts much longer than a polish and I attend appointments religiously every 3 weeks. Trust me it’s worth it and is an instant pick me up feel good treatment.
With regards to your hair, you may like a messy up do, have long flowing locks or a short little crop, just make sure it’s clean and well groomed. Keep up with regular trims to keep the condition on top form and use great products that enhance and help with what you have.
Find an excellent seamstress or tailor and get items repaired
Well-fitting clothes are essential for looking pulled-together. For a wardrobe that really works for you, take any item you’re not 100% happy with – designer or high street – to be nipped and fitted properly. I have to do this with most of my clothes thanks to my shape, but the result is clothes that fit perfectly. We might be the same size but we’re not all the same shape.
Whether it’s an unstitched hemline, missing heel cap or scuffed leather on a bag, it’s the small details that will amount to an unpolished look. The https://the-restory.com/ or https://thehandbagspa.com/ are both amazing at restoring items to their former glory.
Invest in the finishing pieces:
The most important element of any outfit is always the accessories. A great handbag, beautiful belt or smart pair of shoes will elevate even the most inexpensive of outfits. Consider the final pieces of your outfit, including a coat or jacket, these are the first things people notice about you and are the key in looking well out together, effortless, polished and stylish.
Keep it simple:
Sometimes less is more, if in doubt, forget bright colours, busy patterns and fussy frills. Polished women know not to bother with difficult combinations, but instead prefer to opt for classic, neutral, simple and paired back pieces. If all else fails, nothing hides a multitude of sins than a pair of oversized and dramatic sunglasses!
